Adoration Group

Eucharistic Adoration takes place here in the parish of Kilrush Wednesday to Friday from 8.00am to 8.00pm in our Adoration Chapel. Feel free to drop in a spend some time in prayer. If you would like to commit to giving an hour of your week please contact the parish office.

Altar Society

Apostolic Society

Contact: Mary Canny

Apostolic Society makes and sews vestments, altar cloths, and linens for world missionaries. They also raise funds for the purchase of Mass kits, silverware, candlesticks etc., for these missionaries.

Basket Collectors/Counters

Bereavement Group

Contact: Zennie McCarthy

Our Bereavement Support Team take time to visit, listen and support people with the death of a loved one or loss of any kind. They provide a safe space for people to talk freely either in a group setting or one to one. They also conduct different liturgies for the deceased and their loved ones.

Care of the Aged

Contact: Teresa Nolan

This group organises and promotes activities among the elderly in the parish. Such events include our annual Christmas dinner


Contact: Ger Rush

The Parish Choir in Kilrush has a long tradition in Coral Music. The members of this Choir sing for Sunday Eucharist and for all funerals in the Parish. They meet to practice every Tuesday at 8.00pm in the Parish Church. Our Church organist is Michael Young from Patrickswell, Co. Limerick.  New members are always welcome

Eucharistic Ministers

The Eucharistic Ministers carry out their ministry in different settings within the Parish. Some act as ministers at mass, others bring communion to the house bound and others are involved in Hospital Ministry when they conduct communion services once a week in the various hospitals in our parish. If you would like to volunteer as a Eucharistic Minister please contact Parish Office

Family Mass Group

Contact: Helen Crowley

This group coordinates different liturgies with the aim of having all members of the family involved. They organise a practice evening the Thursday before the Sunday mass which they have taken responsibility for. Their aim is to show that we are all God’s family and all the family have a part to play. All are welcome to the practice evenings or to be a member of the coordinating committee. Contact the parish office if you are interested.

Finance Committee

The Parish Finance Committee meets to coordinate the management of the temporal goods of the parish.

Our Folk group sings and promotes Folk and contemporary church music. They sing at Sunday Eucharist and also at funerals in the parish. The Folk Group practice in the Parish Church on Wednesday nights at 8.30pm.

Legion of Mary

Legion of Mary meets on Thursday nights in Community Centre at 8pm and there is also a meeting in Monmore every Tuesday at 8pm

Liturgy Group

The liturgy group here in Kilrush meets the First Tuesday of every month to coordinate and plan the liturgical events held here in the parish. If you have any suggestions for liturgies please contact the parish office.

Monmore Choir

Contact: Maise Glynn

This choir is based in Monmore Church and sing at Sunday eucharist and for other ceremonies held in the church.

Noel Charity Shop

Contact: Michael Carmody

The Noel Charity Shop is suitated behind the Youth Centre on the Kilkee Road. It is staffed by volunteers from the parish and all proceeds from the shop go to support the church in the developing parts of the world.

Parish Lotto

The Parish Lotto aims at raising monies all of which goes towards the church restoration fund.

Parish Pastoral Council

Kilrush Parish Pastoral Council is a decision making body, composed of lay people priests and other religious, who take co-responsibilitiy for pastoral and pastoral care within the Catholic church in the the Parish of Kilrush. The focus of this group is to get all parishioners working together for the good of the parish and share the responsibility. The role of the Pastoral Council is to confirm, refine and co-ordinate the policy making, planning and management of the Pastoral, Administrative and Financial affairs of Kilrush Parish.

Pray n Play Group

Play and Pray helps children to be active participants at Mass each weekend.

Activity based learning is central to Play and Pray

Gospel story stimulates discussions and children enjoy some art work as well

Parents are happy, to bring children to be part of this Liturgy, and they are enabled to attend Mass knowing that their children are also active participants under supervision

Play and Pray volunteers attend on a Rota Basis

St Vincent de Paul

This is a Christian Voluntary organisation, working with poor and disadvantaged people, in local area and wherever a need exists. Through personal contact, we are committed to respecting the dignity of those we assist, and endeavour to develop their self-respect.
